Car was ordered with 440 Six Pack, 4-speed, one of only 114 built. It retains its original matching-numbers motor and transmission. The car has extensive documentation, including Broadcast Sheet, Window Sticker. The 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T is the ultimate Muscle Car and this is one of them dressed out with SE styled formal roof and overhead console(rare options) and the street-savvy V-code 440 Six Pack engine and the 4spd pistol grip manual transmission. The letters R/T denoted performance, and the Six Pack engine, rated at 390hp and 490 lb ft of torque and considered to be a better street balance to the more aggressive Hemi, was installed only in R/T models. Ordering the Challenger R/Ts resulted in special graphics, a performance-oriented hood, the Rallye dash and associated components. Adding the SE package to that allowed for the installation of upscale outside trim, a smaller back window (which in turn resulted in the vinyl top as standard), auxiliary lighting, and an overhead console. This restored car, correctly painted in Sublime Green, has all those parts, with black R/T callout longitudinal striping, scallop-design hood with matched blackout treatment, Rallye wheels, optional Go-Wing rear spoiler, hood pins, and driver’s-side racing mirror. Under the hood is a numbers matching 440/390 HP Six Pack engine featuring a chrome-top air cleaner, and backed by a 4-speed transmission and Dana 60 Sure Grip rear. The factory interior is done in black vinyl with bucket seats and center console, Pistol Grip shifter and AM/FM radio. Now riding Goodyear Eagle GT tires, this car has a great ride and sounds and looks awesome going down the road.
